NSCI enhances public and private Cyberspace
awareness through education, including harvesting and sharing cyberspace-related
information and forging links across cyberspace-related projects. A prime
example of this is NSCI’s publication of a cyber-related newsletter, CyberPro.
Distributed biweekly to over 3,000 senior-level subscribers, including 400
military flag officers and 65 Congressional representatives and staff, CyberPro
aims to increase situational
awareness across a wide range of diverse organizations representing government,
academia, and industry – both national and international – by providing a
"Reader’s Digest" summary of pertinent news, opinions, and issues affecting
cyberspace professionals. An additional example is our participation in a "Tiger
Team" tasked with drafting the first ever Air Force Cyberspace Doctrine Document
(AFDD 2-11, Cyberspace Operations). This document is intended to provide
"insight into the challenges of creating and maintaining cyberspace, controlling
it, and then exercising that control to achieve effects in other domains."
NSCI seeks to improve both formal and informal
cyberspace education in coordination and collaboration with academia and other
organizations. We support cyberspace-related courses and/or course material,
hosting or facilitating public events and various online mechanisms to reach
wider audiences. NSCI also strives to improve targeted dissemination of
cyberspace research findings, conclusions, and recommendations. |
